Accordion Display

6/27/2009 01:01:00 AM Posted In , , Edit This 2 Comments »

This accordion display was made as a gift for a family member. It celebrates her love for her nephew. The four (4"x6") panels were made with chipboard and covered with one of Crate Papers' collections. The stamps used are from Stamps by Judith, SU, and TAC. Brads, ribbons, and charms are from various companies. The Peek-A-Boo sentiment hides a tag. The picture of Coltin and Alli opens up to reveal additional pictures (I love interactive scrapbooking, and I love to include as many pictures as I can). Holes were punched in the panels with the Crop-A-Dile, and the panels were joined with ribbon.

SPCCC #3 "Even at the ZOO there is something about the swings"

This is my entry into Scrapmasters Paradise Color Combo Challenge #3. The colors are chocolate chip, lilac, and garden green. This 12x12 layout uses SU Chocolate Chip CS as a background. The left border is SU DSP. The lilac is from Daisy D's, and the green is from Target. The titles and swirls were cut with Cricut and SCAL. The zoo stamp is from Stamps by Judith, stamped with Stazon Timber Brown ink.

The Cats That Own Me

Here are a few of the (zillions of) pictures that we have taken of the cats that own us. They are all rescue cats - either from the local animal shelter or from folks that were going to take them to the shelter. They get into a little mischief sometimes, but usually they just try to help out as much as possible.
I sometimes like to remind my husband and my children that the cats never ask me to do anything for them that they can do for themselves.

My Laurel Burch Quilt

Here are some pics of one of my favorite quilts (which I no longer have, because I made it as a gift for a dear friend). The fabric is all by artist Laurel Burch. Her Kindred Spirits collection (cats and dogs) and her cat collections are some of my favs. I love her vibrant colors. My kitties, Smokey and Ridley, were a great help in making this quilt (machine-pieced, hand tied).

Okay now. I've found a blog template that I really like. I think that I might have the comment issue solved; however, I had to go to a full page to fix it (rather than a box below the post). I appreciate you looking at my blog and I am anxious to see if you can comment.

A Random Observation About Some Shoes

I love shoes! But not "girly" shoes. I love sneakers and clogs and flip flops and Birks. Anywho, here is a shoebox that my daughter and I caught on a shopping trip. Check out the note about average contents. It cracks me up!

Holy Buckets - I am a Blogger!

My dear friend Samantha at Scrapmasters Paradise said that she wanted to make a blogger out of me. Well, I took the plunge and created a blog. Okay, it's a totally beginners blog, but I will keep working at it. Maybe in a week or two I can take the training wheels off and take it for a spin. I already know how to post things and even add pictures. There's no stopping me now!

Happy Birthday Card

This is a birthday card (hard to read the sentiment, which is from TAC). The turtle is from LetteringDelights.
