"Going Green" Blog Hop

Welcome to SPCC's first ever blog hop! If you just happened upon my blog today, the blog hop starts at SPCC so go there to begin. You should have arrived here from Deanne's blog. I am so happy that you are here! I have some exciting things to share with you. First, is my project. This little accordian folder is a quick and easy project. For mine, I used the colors of turquoise, lime green, and white. My recycled items are scraps of tissue paper (the paisley and the green background on the right panel) and paper from the box that my daughter's cell phone came in (used to punch the scalloped circles). I also tied the panels together with scraps of ribbon. Each panel is 4"x6" (scrap chipboard works great for this).

I also have some wonderful blog candy for one lucky winner (to be drawn at random after the close of the blog hop). This is a wonderful collection of embellies, including sticker packages from Jolie's, Brenda Walton from K and Co., Paper Loft, Cloud Nine, and more. As if that wasn't enough, my sponsor has donated a Tropical Waterfall tealight from PartyLite and a package of Two Sisters Gourmet Peppery Herb Rub Dip. All you have to do to be eligible is to leave me a comment letting me know your fav scrapbooking "green" tip. Of course, I'd love for you to become a follower, but that is only if you really want to (and not a requirement for you to win).
I hope that you have enjoyed this stop on the hop. Now it's time for you to got to Emily's blog. Enjoy the rest of the hop!

This is awesome - a scrapbooking green idea? Well, I know how many scraps of paper we accumulate so I have a 3-drawer tower where I sort my CS scraps by colors (neutrals, reds/oranges/yellows, and blue/green/purples). Lately, I've only had to cut into a new sheet for the actual card base and have used up MANY scraps I probably would have forgotten about. :)

I have also started making my own cards with all the scraps. If scraps are too small to use on cards, they go into our recycle can. I save all the plastic packaging from paper kits and embellies to put stuff together for garage sales. We also have fossil watch tins that we have decorated for reindeer food and candy treet gifts at the day camp for kids with disabilities.

Just love your colorful layout! I guess my green idea is that I never throw out any paper unless it's smaller than 1" x 1"...even then I recycle it! Thanks, Pam

Very cute layout....love the way you have used so many recycled scrappy things.
Sometimes I challenge myself to only use my little scraps of papers.

Very nice LO! My favorite green tip is to use baby food jars and containers to store my embellishments!

I really like these colors when used with "boy" stuff. My sister is having a baby boy in a few months and I've been going over all my stuff trying to find good colors to make her a scrapbook...this is a great idea :)

love the project!

favorite tip is that I save all my scraps of paper (sorted by color of course LOL)...they are constantly being used on layouts as borders or mats, and they are perfect for cards :)

I give lots of paper scraps to local elementary schools, the art department seems to like this! I also donate any retiring products.

Beautiful layout! I have been
"filing" my small paper scraps in an old coupon file. Many times I can use these scraps instead of using a whole sheet when cutting something on the cricut.

So cute! Love your layout...my crafting tip was to use the empty International Coffee container and cover it with paper and ribbon...but for scrapbooking I actually saved the piece of cardboard perforation that covers a Kleenex tissue box...it had wonderful swirls on it...if I have time I'll try to use it in this challenge...even the color works!
